UHMA APPROVED UNDERFLOOR HEATING COURSE TOPS 200

STUDENTS SEEK NEW SKILLS

The new UHMA approved training course in underfloor heating design and installation is proving a major success.

Already over 200 trainees have taken the special three-day course, which was developed under the auspices of BPEC in liaison with SummitSkills and UHMA.

Since it first went “live” at the start of this year, the syllabus has been taken up by both academic institutions and the training teams of underfloor heating companies. Seven centres across the UK now offer regular courses – and there’s been no shortage of students.

UHMA Chairman Chris Ingram is also Managing Director of Continental Underfloor Heating – one of the first companies to meet the BPEC accreditation requirements to run the course in house.

He has no doubt that the introduction of this specialists training came at the right time for the industry.

" UK demand for underfloor heating in the has reached a point at which a recognised professional qualification has become essential.

The UHMA approved BPEC course offers a route to new skills and qualifications. I’m delighted that both trainers and trainees have been so quick to seize the opportunity.”

Professionals

Designed for professionals who already have NVQ2/ NVQ3 level skills in plumbing and heating, the new course comprises two modules based around wet systems to EN1264. Total time for both design and installation modules is three days.
